I went to treatment to stop using drugs and alcohol. I was sick and tired of the way I was living and I couldn’t stop using on my own. What I didn’t know at the time is that I not only wanted to stay clean and sober but more importantly I wanted to live life differently. The only problem was that I didn’t know how. All my years of substance abuse had deprived me of the many skills I needed to live a full and exciting life. From the moment I walked into A New Path I knew I had found a program that truly cared about me, which meant the world to me when I was newly sober. They guided all my decisions in early recovery from what job to take, to managing my money and my personal relationships. They even dealt with my parents, which was a toxic relationship at the time. After going through the program, living in one of the recovery living homes, and documentation I can say that A New Path was more than there for me every step of the way. A New Path not only changed my life, but also showed me how to live a life I never thought possible. From the bottom of my heart I want to thank Rob, Frankie, Stefan, Brian, Mary and Miriam and the entire New Path team for all the unconditional love and support they gave me during my time at A New Path.
